We are delighted to announce that planning consent has been secured for the extension of the St Ewe Eggs packaging facility at Resparveth Farm, Grampound Road, Cornwall.
St Ewe Eggs is a much-loved, family-run business with deep roots in Cornwall, renowned nationally for its free-range eggs and innovative products. Following continued growth and demand for their high-quality produce, the existing packaging facility, completed in 2021, had reached capacity. The approved extension will provide the additional space needed to support the next phase of the company’s expansion.
The proposals, designed by CSA Architects, will deliver new operational areas, offices, meeting rooms, and goods dispatch facilities, along with improved circulation for heavy goods vehicles. An expanded car park, including overflow provision, will also accommodate the increasing workforce. Importantly, the design ensures the extension reflects the existing facility in scale and character, while incorporating significant ecological and green infrastructure enhancements, including new wildlife areas, hedgerow planting, and biodiversity improvements.
The project demonstrated BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standards, underlining St Ewe’s commitment to sustainability. With features such as roof-mounted solar PV panels, electric vehicle charging points, and measures to enhance energy efficiency, the scheme represents an investment not only in the business but also in the local environment and community.
This consent marks an exciting step forward for St Ewe Eggs, helping to safeguard local jobs, create new opportunities, and support a thriving Cornish business for years to come.
