Residential Development - Truro

Phase two of a high-profile development by Linden Homes, this is a collection of duplex apartments alongside the estuary in Truro.  It comprises a circle and a row of homes, above the two rows that were the first phase of development.

Of necessity, the style had to be similar to the existing properties, but Linden asked for a change of construction style, using timber framed instead of traditional construction for phase two. CSA have achieved this in a way that shows individuality in the properties, while carrying on Linden’s design brief. The nature of the site required an abundance of retaining wall, but these are achieved seamlessly, without ugly structures marring the appearance of the houses.

Before final permission was granted to build, the planners highlighted issues with fire barriers, but these were resolved to their satisfaction. The twenty-two duplex apartments are laid out as town houses, with garages below, set out as a courtyard for the circular array. The team at CSA worked closely with Linden Homes throughout the process to ensure that the landscape and structural engineering were as much a part of the finished project as the kitchens and loft spaces.
