John qualified as a Chartered Architect in 1976 shortly after moving to Cornwall from London where he had worked for two Holborn based firms of Architects on large commercial and hospital projects, and also for what was then known as the Department of Historic Buildings and Ancient Monuments where he developed a lively interest in conservation work.
John joined csa in 2004 after many years working for local architectural practices, primarily in Truro. He has a wide experience of Western Cornwall and the regional planning scene and has been involved in many conservation projects ranging from barn conversions to the renovation and alteration of large redundant historic buildings to form residential, office and hotel accomodation. He has recently been involved with a number of grant-aided projects in the locality.
