Planning Matters
csa advise and process all aspects of the planning application process. Extensive pre-application consultations and knowledge of planning matters, procedures, policies and precedents ensure that all projects have the best chance of success. After the initial submission they will monitor progress and take action where necessary, promote the applicants scheme to interested parties ie. elected members and planning officers, prepare supporting reports; impact assessments and contextual analysis. csa also work with independent planning consultants for more complicated and controversial projects as well as providing complete packages on behalf of the client, acting as lead consultant. 

Planning Application Checklist
A commitment to quality control, csa have a planning application checklist, which outlines all of the necessary requirements for every planning application, this identifies the scope of architectural information required, as well as any specialist reports which may be required for the planning authority to determine the application. If these additional requirements fall outside of their specialist knowledge, csa will obtain quotations and appoint consultants on your behalf, to provide the necessary information. Common items include; topographical surveys, tree surveys, traffic assessments, detailed drainage design and site investigation reports. 

Design & Access Statement
Required for all planning applications, in accordance with the criteria defined by CABE, planning design and access statements need to address the main issues regarding contextual analysis, the proposed form, mass, height and materials, planning policy, disabled access and landscaping issues. Csa have the capability to undertake these reports to accompany the planning application. 

Listed Building & Conservation Area
csa conservation has extensive experience dealing with listed buildings and work in conservation areas, having received commendations for sensitive design work in this area. csa are on the Falmouth Conservation Area committee and therefore understand the requirements of the planning authority for projects of this nature, in these sensitive areas. 

Statement of Community Involvement
Required for larger or controversial schemes, csa will advise on the preparation of the statement of the community involvement, including the invitations to the relevant parties; local residents, councillors, media, etc. Selecting a venue, undertaking the presentation itself, preparation of display material, public speaking, recording the list of attendees, questionnaires, collating feedback, as well as managing the press coverage. Csa have experience and knowledge of this complicated and often controversial part of the planning process. 

Planning Appeals
In the event of a planning refusal csa can prepare and lodge an appeal - a job that requires the kind of detailed knowledge of structure plans, district plans and government guidelines. More complicated projects will be passed to an independent planning consultant appeal specialists to ensure that the scheme has the best chance of success, csa have specialist knowledge of this process and will assist the appeal, at every stage, working with the appointed planning experts.
