csa were engaged to act on behalf of a private developer, with a major freehold interest in a prominent site at Tuckingmill, Camborne. The site incorporates the iconic "Fuseworks" building on the northern edge; which represents an iconic landmark relating to the industrial heritage of this world heritage site designation and conservation area. The area has deteriorated and this scheme is for a major site, circa 34Ha, to facilitate a new relief road, provide up to 500 houses, a new school, open space and employment space. csa worked in conjunction with CPR Regeneration and Cornwall Council to produce an urban design framework for the entire area; and were then retained by the private developer to prepare, submit and process a full EIA planning application for part of the site, in line with the master plan. The production of the master plan required a detailed contextual analysis and urban characterisation to produce a suitable layout, which was endorsed by the Council.
