Commissioned by a private client, csa were appointed to provide full architectural services for an ultra modern property in a sensitive, AONB location, on the banks of the Carrick Roads, overlooking the water. The site formed part of a large garden of an established house, which was defined, in planning terms, as being within the established settlement boundary of the village; on this basis, csa successfully achieved planning permission for a new dwelling in this rural location. The client had an exacting brief and this building utlises a very contemporary aestheitc, in keeping with their requirements, and utlises a simple palette of materials consisting of shuttered concrete, white render and copper. Internally, the building extends to early 4,000sqft and will provide a stunning modern family home. The property is due to be completed by late 2011.
