CSA were commissioned to design a sympathetic extension to the existing hotel building, the project was controversial and was the subject of much publicity during the design process, but after public consultations and extensive negotiations with the planning department, CSA achieved a planning approval for this prominent waterfront building. CSA undertook detailed design and supervised the construction, on-site. Working to a difficult and tight programme, to coincide with the hotel's quietest time of year. The finished extension compliments the existing building and is a fine addition to the harbourside of St. Mawes Village.
