Gyllyngvase Beach Cafe, Falmouth

CSA were approached by the owners of the existing beach café to create a landmark building for Falmouth's waterfront to replace the existing café. The proposed building comprises of a beach café/bar at beach level and a high class restaurant at first floor with direct access from Cliff road, due to the stepped levels of the site. Internally, a mezzanine floor is created within the roof void and has a fantastic outlook onto the dining area and feature kitchen below, as well as uninterrupted views across the beach. Externally, a wave form roof, created using standing seam aluminium forms the main architectural feature and the proposal is softened by timber weatherboarding and external shading provided by large overhanging roof projections and balcony deck.
