csa were commissioned to undertake full architectrural services to develop a former football pitch and training ground, in the centre of a large industrial estate, in Launceston. The brief was to create 4 speculative units, creating a total floor area of 35,000sqft. The scheme is a high specification self contained industrial park, and was "Objective One" funded, as such, the grant offer was conditional on achieving a "Very Good" BREEAM rating. CSA undertook extensive negotiations with the BREEAM consultants and have achieved this rating, thus endorsing the sustainable credentials of the project, as a whole. This required the specification to include increased specification of insulation values, natural daylighting levels, and numerous additional elements, not usually specified for this type of project. Currently under construction, this scheme will create one of the first "Eco-friendly" industrial developments in Cornwall, and CSA are proud to be associated with the project. The first unit, for printing company KCS was completed in September 2005 and the remaining units were completed in June 2006. The 4th unit has been leased by Duchy Originals and was opened by HRH Prince Charles. Photographs courtesy of Austin Gardner.
