A sensitive, compact site, located in the heart of Falmouth's Conservation area, within the town centre and directly on the waterfront which had restricted access and required flood risk mitigation; having had an extensive planning history of refusals the site provided a challenge to the conciencious design team at csa. The client required a minimum of 7 apartments to ensure that the scheme was viable, in addition, the local planning autority required a minimum of Code Level 3. Csa utilised in-houe knowledge and expertese of the Code for Sustainable Homes to create a site specific, contemporary design solution, for 8 apartments, which gained unanimous support of the local planning authority and Falmouth Town Council, gaining consent in summer 2008. The scheme is due to start on site in Autumn 2009.
