csa architects were appointed by Sanctuary Housing PLC, a prominent Housing Association and Registered Social Landlord, for the redevelopment of the former Miller House, Care Home site in the heart of Launceston. Situated on the side of the hill, overlooking Launceston, the existing 5 storey building had reached the end of its servicable life and could not be retained/converted. csa designed and gained planning permission for a high density development of 36 affordable apartments with associated car parkin, bicycles and waste storage, designed to achieve a minimum Code Level 3, in assocdance with the requirements of the funding. The development is to be procured using a Design & Build Contract and construction works commence in Autumn 2009.
