csa were commissioned by Damerell's Motorcycles to design a purpose-built showroom facility in a prime location alongside the A30 at Indian Queens. The brief incorporated a specific requirement for Honda, having to provide a detached showroom for their products, in conjunction with the main showroom which displays other marques. Due to the limited site frontage, the building has to maximise it's presence. The development equates to 12,000sqft in total, including workshops at the rear. A key concept is to create a landmark visual reference which would be clearly visible from the A30 at the rear of the site. This has been achieved using an angled feature wall that rises from the building, in the company's corporate colour, red. Planning has been granted in February 2007, construction is due to commence in Summer 2007. The scheme also incorporates key sustainable features, including a feature solar screen to the main, south elevation.
