Company news:
We are pleased to announce that, in June, we became an accredited ISO 9001 company, having been audited, undertaking and implementing changes within the structure of the company to ensure quality assurance is enhanced and monitored. This will benefit all of our clients and consultants who are involved with our company. The certificate was presented by John Beaumont (Certified Quality Systems) to Justin and Elaine, pictured right.
Ken Pascoe joined the team at the beginning of June, an experienced Architectural technician who has gained much of his experience working in Australia and London, prior to moving to Cornwall to join CSA. Ken has already established an excellent relationship with his clients and brings new skills to CSA, especially his drawing skills, technical knowledge and approach to CAD management systems. More information regarding Ken, pictured right, is available on "the team" page.
To ensure that quality is maintained within the office, we have appointed a new secretary to supplement the existing administration team. Millie Thornton joins CSA in August 2005, with much experience as a secretary and PA, we welcome Mille and this appointment enables Elaine to focus on office management and quality assurance.
Ian Tyrell left the practice at the end of June. Ian has been a pleasure to work with over the past two and a half years and we wish him all the best for the future. Ian has worked on "The Atrium" proposals from conception and finalised the revised scheme for planning submission prior to his departure. As an appropriate "send-off", the office went go-karting for an afternoon, followed by an evening meal in Falmouth.
Project updates:
CSA were approached to prepare the detailed design for a state of the art, football/rugby stadium for Cornwall, to be located at Truro City Football Club, Treyew Road. The multi-million pound scheme has received much press coverage and after a successful public presentation is likely to be submitted for planning, following the completion of the full environmental impact assessment, as requested by the Local authority. This scheme, pictured right, illustrates CSA's capability to coordinate a professional presentation and manage publicity, during the design process thus far, Justin Dodge has been interviewed for TV, radio and newspaper articles. The project also illustrates CSA's quality 3D visualisations, which are proving extremely helpful for the client, planning authorities and the general public. CSA are also proud to be providing sponsorship of Truro City FC for the forthcoming season, and wish the team every success.
Boscawen Woods gained planning consent earlier this year and has also been awarded a pre-assessment "Very good" BREEAM rating, with potential uplift to an "excellent". Works are due to start on-site later this year.
"The Atrium" project has been substantially revised and re-designed as a result of extensive consultation with the local planning authority and Design Review Panel. Pictured right, the revised scheme has been re-submitted for planning, July 2005, we expect to receive the decision by September.
Earlier this year, we prepared concept proposals for a project in mid-Cornwall, for a multi-purpose, sustainable theatre/lecture venue, with associated facilities, bar/restaurant and offices. Pictured right,
We are currently in the process of finalising a planning submission for a totally "self-sufficient" sustainable private house, in a spectacular location, overlooking Kennack Sands. The existing "railway cottage" formerly a carriage on the Helston branch line, this charming building has reached the end of it's design life and the proposal is to create a sustainable, low impact eco-home as a replacement, in this most sensitive of locations. Following the success of the Stralfors project, the second phase of the scheme will be starting on-site in August, to create 4 speculative units, a total of 50,000sqft approx, an Objective One funded project.
We are currently working on many more projects and are eager to further expand our portfolio.
