Christmas 2005

2005 has been an extremely successful year for Christopher Smith Associates. The practice profile has expanded and in-house capabilities have been enhanced, culminating in proposals for further expansion in the New Year. The company, now 15 strong, has acquired additional office space in Falmouth, to extend the existing staff capacity, which has enabled CSA to take on 4 new staff, including;

Jeremy Bradley (Chartered Architect) joins the practice as an Associate, specifically to manage & coordinate major projects. Jeremy will also provide assistance to Justin and Chris as a direct point of contact for clients. He joins us from another Cornish Architectural practice, where he has worked for 3 years and gained extensive local knowledge.

John Buchanon (Architectural Technician & Accredited Eco Homes Assessor) joins the company, also as an Associate, specifically to manage our new "Sustainable & Environmental Design" Department, using his experience as an EcoHomes assessor, advising on projects throughout the South West. John also has vast experience working on major residential schemes.

Callum Wason (Architectural Assistant) has quickly established himself as an enthusiastic member of the team with excellent design and presentation skills, whilst drawing on his previous experience working for two Cornish Architectural practices. Callum completed his Diploma (Part II) earlier this year and is working with CSA to become a Chartered Architect.

Millie Thornley (Main Receptionist) a highly motivated, organised, efficient and experienced secretary and PA. Mille's appointment enables Elaine to focus on office management and quality assurance.

This year, CSA have continued to invest in computer systems, installing a new server and network. We have installed the latest version of AutoCad, 2006 LT, to ensure that productivity is maximised and quality enhanced in line with our commitment to Quality Assurance.

We are pleased to announce that, in June, we became an accredited ISO 9001 company, having been audited, undertaking and implementing changes within the structure of the company to ensure quality assurance is enhanced and monitored. This will benefit all clients and consultants who are involved with our company.

CSA are currently recruiting for additional staff, following the successful acquisition of additional office accommodation adjoining the existing offices in Falmouth. The expanding workload and additional premises allow us to actively recruit quality staff to further enhance the quality of service and practice capabilities.

"We have had a fantastic year and hope to build on our reputation in 2006" Justin Dodge (Director)
